Character Information
Jan. 1st, 2030 12:00 pmName: Ishaani
Canon: Dungeons & Dragons OC
Race: Pureblood Yuan ti
Age: 30s
Class: Warlock
Patron: Great Old One (Dendar, the Night Serpent)
Appearance: The yuan ti are serpentfolk. They vary in form, from giant snakes with arms who stand upright to individuals with few serpentine features to virtually none who could easily be mistaken for human. In yuan ti society, the more snakelike in appearance, the higher their status. Pureblood yuan ti are the most human passing and therefore the lowest ranked. Ishaani appears human but for her eyes, which are an unnatural shade of gold, delicately pointed canines, and gleaming copper colored scales at her temples, on her back, arms, and thighs, which she conceals magically when necessary. At all other times, she can be seen wearing them as proudly as the lush silks and elegant jewelry she dresses in from day to day.
Abilities:
Immune to poison
Poisonous bite
Animal Friendship (specifically the ability to communicate with snakes)
Tentacle shenanigans
Assorted D&D magical spells and effects, which I will happily nuke or play up according to the thread
Occuptation: Ishaani bills herself as a travelling healer and mystic, selling everything from harmless snake oil (pun intended) medicinal remedies to narcotics to the deadliest of poisons. She also masquerades as a fortune teller and dreamworker while advancing her own personal goals as well as those of her patron.
Pact: A warlock is a magic user who has made a contract with a powerful supernatural being. In Ishaani's case, she made a pact with Dendar, a primordial evil, and enormous snake, who devours the nightmares and dreams of both mortals and immortals; her freedom from her people and power in exchange for her service. Some of the potions she peddles cause the drinker to dream, keeping her patron fed. Others simply kill the unfortunate customer as a straightforward sacrifice to the Night Serpent.
Personality: A charismatic hedonist who is pleasant enough to be around, and even a good friend to those fortunate enough to remain free of her manipulations and schemes. She doesn't feel any remorse for the things she's done, viewing them as necessary (it's simply a matter of thinning the herd), but she's not needlessly cruel to her victims unless they've done something to incur her wrath. Slow to anger, like a snake waiting to strike. When someone does cross her, they may not even know that they've displeased her until it's too late.
Miscellanous:
Not all of the potions and tinctures she sells are harmful. Some are genuine remedies, and she does help a significant number of people she sells to or works with. She doesn't take pleasure in killing, but she is guilty of playing god in judging who should receive her more deadly concoctions.
Has a pet flying snake named 'Aditi' who she often uses as a messager, sending the serpent to the recipient with a small scroll wrapped in its coils
